Tranny fluid
Is Mobile 1 5W30 suitable for the Zf transmission. I'm getting conflicting info, some say it is just as good as the Castrol RS & some say it isn't. What about the GL-3 standards??? I'm coming up on my 30,000 mi. service shortly & my usual mechanic says he was told by a dealer that they use the Mobil 1 but that he would'nt recommend it! Help!

I bought the stuff from the dealership. I've heard conflicting information from many people saying that Mobil is fine, other people say use gear oil.
I say use what comes in the car, which you get from the dealership. Ok, it costs $8 a quart but you can't go wrong with it. Some say that Fords that use ZF trannys have synchro problems because they only say to use ATF.
