Default Tv cable oil seal..

I just bought a replacement TV cable and it has a different oil seal than the old one. The old one had a cylinder shaped seal that fit into the hole in the trans case and the cable than went in, the new one has a flat o-ring type seal at the top and thats it.. which one do I use? Or should I try to use both togather?

The correct type is called a boot seal. The o-ring is incorrect.

I always use a gm replacement cable. If you bought an aftermarket cable, you may want to exchange it for the gm.
