When I asked for header reducers from NAPA in 3"-2.75" they said that those don't exist. Is this true? Aren't our pipes 2.75"? That's what I have always thought anyway. Maybe they are 2.5???? What do you guys use to connect the headers to the rest of the exhaust system???
Thanks, Matt
I was never able to find any 3->2.75 reducers. Some people just slip 3" extensions over the 2.75" pipe and weld it on. Only downside there is that you then have a "step" in the wrong direction, if it matter any. You could use a 3->2.5 reducer and chop it at its mid-point, then weld directly to your 2.75 pipe.
Lots of possibilities, but yeah, the 2.75 is definitely an odd size.
My collectors end in a three-bolt flange that I want to bolt up to my main exhaust so I can separate the two when needed. In fabricating this reducer, could an exhaust shop also make it boltable to that collector flange?

just get a 3" to 2.5" reducer and cut it where it measures 2.75"
