Tranny front seal replacement
Trying to get a hold of Pete, but until then....anyone replace their front pump seal on their 700r. I have an 85 with stock original tranny. Need to replace leaking front seal. I have the tranny out but wanted to know if anything else has to come off the front of the tranny to get the old seal out? Does the old seal just pull out and the new one press in?

You may want to pull it and seek a local pro. To "properly" fix this, the pump should be pulled and split. The drain hole is too small on the early units. It can be drilled oversize, and a new teflon bushing installed. $2 hrs labor and $25-$30 for parts.
