Default nope...
only BMW dealerships that I found.

If it's for your ZF gearbox then why not Pennzoil Synchromesh Transmission fluid? I bought mine at Auto Zone.

and the Castrol is 10-60.

I did use the pennzoil synchromesh and now my tranny is very loud.

is it loud when driving? or a louder when idling?

That's because the synchromesh fluid is thinner, 5w30. (And the correct viscosity designed for your trans).

The BMW motor oil is quieter because it's about 4 times more viscous. Or you could try vanilla yogurt, Ralphs has it.

Dextron is an automatic transmission oil.

if you are not happy with the pennzoil, get the Castrol. It's at your local BMW dealer.
