I've done the search and I'm still looking for good tips or expected times for a decent 6-speed launch on street tires.
I'm running a set of 315 BFG's and I have the stock 3.45:1 gear ratio.
I've been doing 1500rpm launches letting out the clutch and I seem to be getting right around 2.0 for my 60'.
Should I be getting better? It seems to bog or spin I can't seem to find the sweet spot in the middle. Any suggestions? I'm heading back to the track this afternoon. Thanks.
On street tires, the best I could get with my old set up was around the 2.0x range. A soft compound tire will help shave a tenth or two, and you can launch more aggressively at a higher RPM.
With your combo and street tires, I think a 2.0x is about right.
sounds like you have the idea correct, unless your car is down on power you're doing all you can. A little wheelspin is better than a bog.
I'm running a turbocharged 383 so it takes until the top of first gear to get the thing spooled. But I shouldn't be low on launching power with the stroker.
Yes, it was with 4.10's. Sorry I forgot to mention that. The 4.10's will also help a lower rpm launch without a bog. But, they are way too much gear for your engine.
