I have a stock 87 Coupe with 160 degree thermostat and my radiator cooling fan doesn't come on until 220 degrees. Is that normal? Can I get a replacement switch that will turn on sooner? Thanx
2 fans, one in front of radiator and one mounted to radiator shroud. But I haven't noticed the fan in the front come on yet. My A/C is not working now, would that make any difference?

You can use the above switch on either configuration. You can see the install instructions right on that link above. If you had just the one fan and not two, you would have a pipe plug in place of the fan temp switch you currently have on the driver's side head. It has a square hole, and nobody makes the right pipe plug socket for it. You have to grind down an extension to size to remove it. And it's a real bitch, because those are on there really tight. I had to use a breaker bar on that. Lucky for you, you won't have to deal with that.

I got a replacement head and it came back from the machine shop with this plug in it. I twisted several pieces of bar stock trying to get that sucker out... Still haven't been able to get to it.
That pipe plug is a real peice of crap, and will **** you off because you'll spend time fabricating a one off tool to remove it since no size will fit, for a job that should have just taken seconds.
I had to put some massive force behind a 3 foot breakerbar on that little thing before it broke loose. Soaked it with PB Blaster for days prior to. Maybe some torch heat would be ideal.
Here's what I devised after much wasted time tracking down pipe plugs, only to find no size made fits this hole. Either too big, or too small, metric or standard.
Gound down an extension with no bearing on the end to approx 8mm x 8mm. You'll have to sacrafice a semi-quality peice. Cheaper ones won't hold up.
You can put just the switch without any harness in the aux fan switch location and turn the aux fan on first at 200*. Your main fan will still come on at 220 something controlled by the ECM. If your AC doesn't work the compressor switch won't work. It works on AC line pressure.
