What does this mean?
I have a custom dual exhaust setup with 1 small balance pipe. I just noticed today that I dispense a bit of smoke but only from the left pipe. The car regularly blows smoke on startup, but this continued for a few minutes after. I'm sure this must mean something that the smoke is only coming from the left pipe, but what?
BTW I figure the smoke is from burning oil. I do have to add some oil between changes, yet it doesn't seem to leak any oil...
I do have a studder in acceleration sometimes... perhaps this may be related?

Possibly a blown head gasket on the left cylinder bank if it smokes badly. If not that, possibly trashed valve stem seals. Most more and likely bad stem seals would be causing your smoke on start-up. How many miles does it have. I don't believe dual exhaust would have anything to do with it.

I've got 98,xxx miles. I wasn't thinking that the duals were causing the problem, I just thought that they may be helping to isolate some anomaly since it was only smoking from the left pipe :)
