How much does a power seat track bring (used and working)? The reason I am asking is because I just converted mine to manual to save weight for my weight reduction project.
New ones from GM are $400 or so, rebuilt units can be found for $150-$200. Used is hard to say because when a used one is found you don't know how good the plastic gears are or how much longer they will work.

Bummer! I just bought an 89 coupe and the passenger seat doesn't go back and forth either. Just a stripped gear kind of sound when I push the button. No way to dissable the power seat feature and adjust manually? Can a dealer do the track replacement or is it something I could do with the Helms manual if I bought the part. It's a real drag that the stripped gear can't be replaced!
Typically it is more than a stripped gear. The main weakness is the plastic injected gear housing. When it breaks it allows the gears to move. This causes less gear engagment hence you get the stripped gears. It is possible to repair the housing in some cases and move the gear engagement point by changing the spacers. It is a lot of work though. But if you have time it can be done.
