Default LT4 Hot Cam Issue!

When installing the LT4 hot cam I'm told there is a big problem if you don't change the rocker arm studs because the hot cam has to be adjustable.
Can I get an Amen to this?

NO! you need an exorcisim. On your 1993, you DO NOT need to change anything on your heads except the valve springs. Stock springs will break and you will swallow valves. BACK SATAN!!! BACK!!

lol.

Your 93 has adjustable rocker arms. But, you may want to look into a set of 1.6 roller rockers to get a little more HP from the cam swap.

You should use the whole "Hot cam kit" It comes with the cam,1.6 Roller rockers, springs keepers ect. That way it's all matched.

I also installed the LT4 heads and roller rockers and intake.

I should have mentioned this in the first post.

I was told you have to change the studs because the LT4 has to be adjusted and not just torqued down.

OK, now you tell us this information. The stock LT4 rockers/studs are non adjustable and may be a bit noisy with the Hot Cam, but will work.

You'll be ok, as long as I am reading this right. On your car, you will NEVER "just torque down" your rocker arms. That is done with pedestal mount rockers, like mustangs and some GM motors have. The SBC comes with adjustable rockers from factory. This means you HAVE to set valve lash when you set the rocker arms. There are many strategies for this, but please, don't just torque down your rocker arms.

Not if he has the stock LT4 rockers/rocker studs. They are non adjustable, "just torque down"
