Default Engine Removal?

I've got a laundry list of mods/repairs I'd like to do at one time. I'd like to change the clutch, opti, radiator, camshaft, belts & hoses, etc.

Should I remove the engine?

Can I drop the engine and tranny out the bottom with a lift? If so, is this an attractive option?

Thanks in advance for your experiences.

Joe

Yr is always helpful.... and they come out the top, w/o removing the clam shell...
you can remove all in one piece, or tranny (bottom), engine (top)

Sorry, it's a 93 coupe.

Which is easier...top or bottom?

If you remove the engine from the top you will not have to pull the transmission to change the clutc. The clutch will come out with the engine. It will be fairly simple to replace the throw out bearing at this point too.

I prefer trans out the bottom, then engine out the top, hood on. (even with a lift)

That is how I do it, and I think it is easier.

when i removed the engine out of my 89, i was surprised as to how tight of a fit it was. I would agree with engine out from top and tranny out from the bottom, that is if you feel like it is necessary to remove the tranny for whatever reason. wait, how the hell do you remove an engine out of a c4 with the hood on? your joking right?

You pull it from the side. Just did it again last week for the umpteenth time.
