Anybody have any issues with Accel Ignition Modules and their Brute Thunder Coils? I'm using both of these products and trying to track down a tach problem I'm having and I want to eliminate these as the cause before I send the dash out.
Can't tell how the tach behaved before this because the first thing I did when I bought the car was to replace the engine and most everything else under the hood.

I'm running an Accel Super Coil @ 54,000 volts, with no problems.
What is your problem? If you replaced the engine, the tach filter is a common piece not to get bolted back on. If its not bolted on, it isn't grounded, and it won't work. Before we go into too much detail, what is the tach doing or not doing?

I have had problems with aftermarket ignition modules myself. I haven't tried the Accel module but I have tried the Performance Distributors and Holley with no luck. My problem was not only with the tach but with a severe misfire over 3000 rpm. I put the stock one back in and everything was fine? I called Performance Distributors about the problem but they could not offer any reason or solution for the problem.

Personally I have not run their HEI coil, but a couple of guys in one of the sportscar clubs I belong to did. They literally burned a hole through the top of the coil. This was a couple of years ago, so maybe Accell fixed the problem. I have run their caps since about '91 and my experience with them is excellent. I run an MSD with the hot coil that Hypertech has made for them. No problems ever since install over five years ago.
