Default GM's turbo dragcar

GM's answer to the imports

http://www.speedtv.com/articles/life...omotive/38350/

The main highlights of our Chevy Cobalt would have to be the performance of the car. To date the car has been a 7.3et @ 198 MPH, during the NHRA event at Englishtown, NJ. The car is powered by a 4 cylinder ECOtec engine that creates 1400 hp @ 60 psi. The team has decided to run a GT 45 from Precision Turbo. In the near future, the Pro car has the potential of running 7.0 @ over 200 MPH.

i'm not impressed, throw big boost on anything and you end up with a lot of power.

I'd like to see you hold the heads/mains in @60 psi in a SBC! the impressive thing is that motor is a modified stock block and still has a cooling jacket.

Ron - bought the wife a GXP, should have 400+whp shortly thanks to HPT and a Gt30RWG! Drive one and you'll fall in love!

nah it's about right. water has a really high specific heat, so comparitivly speaking to A-A, the core can be far smaller yet still retain the same thermal inertia. Garrett's "1000hp" core is only 5.8"x5.8"x11.8" and they rate it@>1psi drop

ahh... I'm used to hearing guys complain about the vortech mondo cooler being too small but then again, it could be a design issue more than anything.

I'd love to hook my ysi up to a core that size if it'll flow that much with a 1 psi drop. Hmm....

you'd be shocked at how cheap they are (minus the end tanks). I beleive the largest core is under $300.
