GM part# 14060655... same as 84 according to my GM Parts and Illustration catalog. Call your local Chevy dealer and give them the part number... perhaps they have the specs listed with the part number(?)
Hi.
I have an 85 and searched alot for specs. I have to getbit confirmed but as i understood the info I got the 1984 and 85 had the same cam. Then in 86 they made a less progressive cam I think it was in the 196intake. In 87 they came back with the same duration as the 84/85 but now wild a roller cam. I am 99 % sure that the 86 has a "weaker" cam than the 84/85. The 86 had the less good cast iron heads until later in 86 when the aluminium haeds came. It had hydraulic flattappet cam the whole year and the block was changed from a twoseal big bearing at the flywheel to the little diameter bearing and one seal on the 86.
Best regards jan-Erik

I think that is a myth. The part numbers in my parts and illustration manual list the same cam for for 84-86.
Dave, what manual are you using? I'd like to also get that particular one. I have the GM shop manual and a Hayes one but what the heck, you can always use another source.
The parts and illustration manual is the loose leaf books that the Parts guy at the GM dealership used to look up part numbers (now its on microfiche). You cna find them used on ebay as GM stop selling them in 1993.
