i like the bfgoodrich tyres in the kd series range.
they have a nice square side wall that makes them look wider.
i have summos and next im getting the kd,s series tyres.
buy they sell for $ 260 each at tire rack .com so they are not that cheap compared to summos unfortunetly.
but you get what you pay for hey!
the summos have a real rounded edge and dont look as wide.
regards

BFG KD's and they used to have a nickname Killer Dry when they were new, and at the auto cross the R compound guys aren't much quicker.
Not Cheap, but the Vettes tires are the only way you are going to extract all the power you have.
New ones on the left, 7 year old ones on the right.
i would like to thank everyone for their input in helping me decide on my 315 tire options.i probably should have mentioned i dont drive the lt4 that often.being addicted to the floor board the rear tire cost actually is a reason for the limited use of the car.i rarely turn off the asr and i still have a rear tire wear issue.my daily driver is a mustang and for years ive run expensive soft compound front tires, and inexpensive kuhmos on the rear.i might just try this on the c4.gsd"s on the front, htrz"s on the rear.the sumo"s wont last long either so this will be a short test.that im sure of.

Do you get any tire vibration from the Sumis? I have been chasing tire vibrations from mine... had to send two back to the vendor. They came up defective on the Hunter 9700 roadforce machine
I've had no probs with mine, they've seen around 35 dragstrip passes, numerous auto-x time, and appx 15k miles. No vibration problems , seen 151 indicated without issue. I'm gonna replace the rears fairly soon, the fronts still look great.
xrcrx,
i just ordered the sumo"s so i guess ill test them for myself.226 dollars for 2 315/35/17 htrz.to my door.i went on the zr1 forum and saw about the same opinions.i can tell you drive youre car with spirit as i do so youre input was discussed with high regard with my fellow gear heads. i can rationalize the front tire cost, but the rear tire wear is a real issue.by the way,i helped a friend build a 1988 gta.we went from the airfoil to the super ram and laptop.we all like youre toy.thanks.junior and gear heads
Like mentioned above, you get what you pay for. They are 96 bucks compared to 250 bucks and for 96 bucks I can beat the crap out of them and wont break the bank to buy new ones.
Right on SCCA. For the price you can't beat the Sumi's with a stick.
