I have a 93 that want start.I washed the engine last Sunday,it was cold.I checked the dist.Took it apart no water.My scanner showed code 16 distributor.How can you check the computer for the no start problem.No spark at all from the dist.The msd box is sending a spark to the coil.nothing comes out the dist.replaced the coil modual.Any help or ideas.

code 16 is low res voltage in the opti. washing the engine will kill a gen 1 opti.

Water + Opti = Diaster... try fan or hair dryer to see if you can dry it out first

I've also heard of taking the opti and putting it in the oven on low. Wrap it in foil paper. Live and learn and good luck.

I know on my offroad vehicles, I've always used WD40 on the distributors after washing the motors and that's always worked wonders for me

I opened it up, no water inside.There was some rust.
