700R4 Problems
I had written a week ago regarding 700R4 problems in my son's car. He has a 1990 IROC convertible with a ZZ383, Accel Super Ram, Bk Trottle Body, Recently purchased Pro Charger, Superior Shift Kit, 1991 Corvette Valve Body, 2800 Stall Converter, Etc... The Transmission was not shifting correctly (5000rpm 1st -2nd, 4000rpm 2nd-3rd). The response from the Forum was incredible but after checking the T.V. Cable, governor, etc we are still bewildered. Disconnecting the T.V. cable allows the car to shift but no kick-down. The current thought is to replace the transmission but unless it is a new one there may be no advantage (in that all others are rebuilt anyway). Another approach is to change to a manual but the cost may be too much and I wonder if this would be an oxymoron? Any thoughts?
