Help LT1 Engine Leaking oil at sensor above drain plug
Hello,
I have a 1990 mint low mileage roadster and this question has nothing to
do with it. I also own a 1995 Buick Roadmaster (The Roadwarrior) that
has a LT1 engine. It has 54K miles on it and the sensor that is located
above the drain plug in the pan has started to leak. I have no clue as to
what this transducer does, but I assume it has something to do with
the oil level. Anyway it is beginning to leak and I wanted to know if
it can be removed and resealed or replaced without removing the plan?
Thanks for any help that may be out there.

It's the oil level sensor. I think there is a O-ring type seal on it. I replaced mine on the 95 after I broke it removing the pan. A new one is only around $20.

It threads into the pan. The hardest part is disconnecting it so you can attach the new one. The new design allows you to access the clip with a screwdriver, the old style doesn't. Really it's only a 20 minute job.
