Default Paging Pete K

Pete K, are you out there ?? Trans question for you. Switched my 87 from TPI to a Miniram. The cable bracket is about 3/4" farther back from the TB than stock. When I tried to adjust the TV cable (push in lock, push slide back in cable, release lock, open throttle to wide open) it will not adjust. Ratchet part wont adjust out and it wont allow TB to go wide open. What I did is, hold the lock in and pull the ratchet out just enough to go WOT, then release the lock. Will this be ok ? Hate to cook the 700 R4.
Thanks,

Had someone in the car push the pedal, he hit it pretty hard.

If the cable it at full extension at wot, it is likely ok. Any time factory tv geometry is altered, it must be triple checked to be sure. I suggest putting a guage on it when you think it is right.
50psi at idle, and 150 psi wide open are the numbers that come to mind. Be sure to verify this in your factory service manual. If a shift kit has been installed, these numbers will rise. Pressure regulator spring will bump up the low side, and boost valve size will alter the high side.

I have only experienced what your describing after the cable was set by the pedal to floor method - then me getting it where it shifted as I wanted - it would only go 95-98% open.

Instead of your method of pushing the d clip and going wot - start over and push the d to get it a couple of teeth out then try wot manually by hand and visually see what is going on -

Nope
I am going to install it on the 406 that I have on the stand. It should rock.
The other thread on the super ram vs miniram (on the 406) stirred my interest.

Any 0-300 psi guage will work. I bought mine from www.etoolcart.com
Nice unit for minimal dough.

I hope to. I wanna see just how much a cast piston can take
The 5151 plate sould work well, but I will likely have to fab a bracket for the tv and throttle cables

Ahhh, we were talking about the same part.
With the likely job relocation pending, I suspect you will finger it out first. Keep me posted
