ARE YOU INSANE? Why on gods green earth are you driving it. DO NOT DRIVE IT! Do you have any idea how close you are to killing yourself and others. If that flame got a hold of your gas tank. Say bye bye to your family and friends. If that happened at a gas station, youd kill everyone with in a 2 mile radius. The fumes of gas are still very flammable. Thats why there are lots of signs posted "Turn Off Your engine" "NO SMOKING". Have it towed to a good shop and dont you dare drive it on public roads. This aint no fast and furious, your life is at stake. Be careful please. I don't know you but I still do care about your life and others. Please do not let this go unchecked.

It sounds like your setup is similar to mine. I have never been told that mine flames out the back. I would get it logged to see if you are running rich.

I doubt it's as bad as you think. They actualy sell kits that light unburned fumes for a small flame out the back. For show use only. I would still get it checked out though.

Not something I would do but here are some kits. http://www.hotrodsetc.net/

Default plug?

i wonder if a bad spark plug would cause it? cause im tunning mine up right now and i have two almost dead plugs? im gonna swap it and see what happens. i was wondering if a computer reprogram would be a good start?

P.S. guys this is not my daily driver and not intended for street use. i drive a 1993 z28 with a m6 for my gas saver.... sad when i think about it

Welcome to the forum. An LT1 y-body and LS1 f-body are close. It would be a drivers race. IMO

I agree with running a bit rich/poss bad injector(s). I wouldnt worry about blowing anythign up though.

If you are fouling plugs your car is telling you something is wrong. Find out what it is and I bet you dont shoot flames anymore. New plugs and stiffer wires wont help at this point.

My friend had that on his carbed caprice. But at one point the flames would turn blue. Pretty cool. It left some burn marks on our friends front lawn...pretty funny.

While this didn't happen to my Corvette, I had a similar situation with a VW. The car wouldn't idle. I had the gas pedal to the floor and it was just barely running. I looked out the side mirror and saw flames. I looked at my exhaust and it was cherry red all the way back to the tip.I car was fixed under warranty. I still have no idea what it was, but it cooked the catalytic converter.

Do you have a strong "fuel" odor at the tailpipes during idle? Sounds like unburnt fuel is being ignited in your headers....
