Default Here is one for you

This only happens every now and then. . . . at it seems as though only after it rains. Here goes. . . When I start up the car the dash backlighting goes dim (I can barely see them) and the turn signal indicators go solid green along with the bright headlight indicator. This in on the dash cluster only. It does not illuminate any of the exterior lights. I checked all the exterior lights both with lights on and off and all signals/lights work properly. Checked all the fuses and they are all good. I drive it for a day or so and it goes back to normal out of no where. Any suggestions ???

im no expert, but there are some sharp guys here, it sounds like a bad ground for the instrument cluster. if you pull the cluster its pretty easy to check. there are 2 plugs to the cluster, a 24 connection closest to you sitting in the drivers seat and a 32 connector behind that, the 32 connector plug has 2 rows, the bottom connector socket closest to you sitting in the drivers seat is the illum. light ground. use a test light clip to bat+ stick the test light in that bottom socket, if it doesnt light you have a bad ground. also in the same column skip the second one from the bottom and check the third one, thats sensor ground.

If you mentioned the year and details of your C4 you're likely to get an informed response.

When the cluster ground opens, the cluster current flows through the turn signal and hi beam lights keeping them on. Repair info at this site: www.batee.com
