It seem just about all my body panels are out of alignment. i spend about 4 hours yesterday playing with the hood adjustments and it's better but still not 100%. My car is black so if it's even the slightest bit off it is very noticeable in the reflection. I know I'm being **** spending all this time on a couple of millimeters difference in gap but then again what corvette owner isn't
My questons:
In what order should the body panels be adjusted? ie: should I only worry about the gaps between the hood and doors then the gap between bumper and hood?
I too have spent a lot of hours trying the get doors, panels, hood and other parts perfectly aligned with each other on my 89 car. I think the car was wrecked at one time and this has caused some minor part alignment problems. I was able to improve the fit of the front bumper to the hood by removing the bumper assembly (about one to two hours work) and examining how it was held to the frame. I made improvements, but it is not perfect. As for aligning the hood, you are a brave soul to try this. A very good body man looked at my car's hood and said "this is about as good as it gets"!
This is all the advice I can give you on this topic! Sleep well tonight
I woke up early this morning to work on it before it gets hot out. this is a grand total of 8 and a half hours of playing with it. all the gaps are the same size. the reflection will never be 100% due to the fact that most of the body has some curve to it. I'm very happy with the way it looks now.
