I hope that we can all learn to get along. There's plenty wrong with this forum. I don't think the problems are caused by newbees asking dumb questions or posting bogus replies. The problem as I see it is there's is a lack of respect and intolerance for inexperienced technicians. Some experienced mechanics convey their message with arrogance, insulting new Corvette owners. Some are new to the Corvette community and lack knowledge, that's no reason to bash them. Some newbees try to act like they know more than they actually do to avoid being bashed. It's better to admit that you are new and lack experience working on a Vette. That's not a crime. Then there are egotistical members that want to run the show and chase away anyone that disagrees with anything they post. It appears that there is a contest on to see who can be crowned head honcho. Instead of a forum it becomes a game of last man standing. The atmosphere here is not one of friendly Corvette owners sharing information. It has become very adversarial. That can turn members off and chase them away. I suggest when a member posts info that is incorrect or asks a question that you consider stupid; you simply correct him or her without insults. A little mutual respect will help things around here. And yes, I will practice what I preach.

Some of you seem to want to make this a members only club. If you think you know how to create the ultimate Corvette website then go ahead and create it, it's a free country. Pretty hard to do it with an already existing public forum though. I liken this to those people who are trying to ban certain radio stations, if you don't like it then push the seek button. It's not like the old days when you had to turn a dial. This site has it's pros and cons like everything else, but a few people have worked very hard to provide us with this service. Let's be thankful that these few people had the courage and strength to put up with the crap that some of you are dishing out and make this site what it is today.
This is the real problem with CF too many non Tech Performance threads in the performance section.
I'd rather read an allegedly rude response from someone like CFI EFI that has some mechanical knowledge, than the tripe posted by some idiot that does not understand what the heck he/she/ it is posting.
, this topic doesn't belong in the Tech section. Along with that it continues to feed or perpetuate bad feelings. Let it go, and we can all move on.
IBTL before it is too late.... WTF is this doing in a "members only" tech/perf section anyway ??? I've been through the hazing ritual, took my licks, and now that I am an expert on every aspect of the LT1 engine, no one would dare flame me or insult me...not even CFI-EFI. Because I know everything there is now....EVERYTHING...just ask me
Someone please flame me, call me an idiot, dumb azz, anything to put me in my place...PLEASE!

I object to this damn it! Even though I said I like you in that other post. Let us have a civil dispute, OK?
BTW, I don't give a hoot what other Forums are "saying" about us! I love this place. The BS banter that goes on from time to time helps lighten things up.....

....and did you make this same point on the thread that we are talking about? What's good for the goose, is good for the gander. You are right to a certain extent about this not belonging on this forum, we shouldn't have to be writing about this topic in the first place. Either respond to someone's thread or not, it really is about that simple.
