Default heads again, port or buy?

I know in the last 5 years or so I've seen head selection posted about once a month but I have to ask.....

I've been looking at getting some LT1 heads from Advanced Induction or Loyed Elliot for a while and have simplly been saving, etc. Now with the appearent success of the new AFR Eliminator heads, I'm wondering about my direction again.

My questions is if I should still go to these guys for their ported heads, get the new AFR heads, or wait a while for AI or LE to start working on the new AFR heads............

Port your heads or if you have lots of money get the AFR and send them out for porting. After you get your stock ported heads back from A.I like I did they looked better then new. My heads flow 275 at .600 lift and they are 190cc. A 200cc or 210 will flow even more but you may be sacraficing throttle response going with bigger chambers. I gained 90rwhp and 50rwtq with A.Is heads and cam. My 13.8 sec car is now running low 12s. I still cant believe I dumped 5 grand all together into my LT1 and Im beating C5 zo6s

I'm hearing that the eliminator heads are flowing 330+. Are we comparing apples to apples or am I missing something?

Buy, unless you have lots of spare time to wait.

330+ may be true for the 227cc raised runner heads, but not for the normal street user 195-210cc Eliminator heads. I have yet to see the numbers for the 220CC+ versions though. However, I do think that a good porter would be able to raise the 195cc heads to around 310-315 pretty easily, but I think AFR quotes something around 305CFM on the 195cc heads directly from them. Unless you are going with a 383+, or a high revving engine you won't need much more than that!!

Thanks for the reply guys. that's just what I'm wondering; staying at 383, which is better for me. It seems that both of these options max out at my potencial so it becomes a matter of cost and new vs old.
