C5 Brake worth it? yes
I drove a 02 ZO6 that my best friend is considering purchasing. I drove the thing hard and decided to test the braking a few times. Hit the brakes hard severals times and went from 80 to 35 in a wink... I had to laugh as it threw my buddy forward a couple of times when he was not prepared.
When I recover from my recent spending spree on parts I am going shopping for a another brake conversion...
This car is like a mistress, give her some $$ and she wants more.

Going from the 12in stockers to the C5 Z06 Brakes was one of the best things I ever did.
Don't forget you will need the new bias spring tho.

I will definitely be doing the brake upgrade on my 86'. I bought my 86' in 2004, but I bought my 99' new. The 86' is the daily car. Everytime I drive the 99', I am reminded how much I like the C5 brakes.

Just a note, if your not auto-cross or the like, the bias spring is not really required... did the conversion with-out the spring change and have no issues as daily driver...

The bias spring was not developed to fight any "issues". They found out that stock brake balance was unnecessary front biased and altering bias a bit made braking distance shorter. I would imagine that is beneficial even outside race track.

My stock 17x9.5" wheels clear the C5 caliper by about 1/8" on the back fins of the caliper. I went to the C5 setup for track use, the stock brakes were fine on the street.

If you have J55's I think a set of HP pads and a set of SS lines work great for a lot less.
If you don't have J55's then by all means, itll be a helluva improvement

I'll bet your J55 setup is even cheaper though.

Most vendor prices on brake stuff is really high, you can put together kits for half the cost.

A little. Physics class was a while back. I was referring to slotted and/or drilled rotors that are 'upgrades'. About the only reason I can see to replacing a rotor with a stock sized one that is up upgrade is a 2 piece rotor with an aluminum heat and replaceable friction surface. However, it would seem spending that money elsewhere would yield better performance.
Please note I am referring to replacing a 13" rotor with a different 13" rotor and calling it an upgrade.
