Re: Headers for LT4 recommendations???????? (John Shiels)
I have just ordered a set of Hooker long tubes from Chris at Speed Demon Motorsports. They are actually made for the L98 but fit on the LT1/LT4 with the only mods required being to the cat-back systems. The headers I ordered have no provisions for emmisions, but they can be had with the proper connections. Long tubes are so long that they replace your cats, you have to locate them elsewhere, which could be difficult on a vette.
It's not impossible to be emmisions legal and have long tubes, but it will be difficult. I also don't think you'll find any that have a Carb E.O. # should your location check such things. If they do you'll probably have to go with shorty headers. Other than looking better than manifolds the benifts are supposed to be much less than long tubes, although I don't have any personal experience in the matter. The common thought here in B.G. is that shorties pretty much suck.

The DRM headers bolt right up to the cat back system. If you want cats you would have to modify the exhaust to install bullet types. All longtube header will need modification of the exhaust to install cats.
