Exterior Lights Problem - 87 Coupe
Could someone give me some tips regarding troubleshooting an exterior light problem on an '87 coupe? The FSM does not have a diagnostic tree for this type of problem....
When I turn the headlights on, the headlights rotate in position and the headlights turn on, but none of the other exterior lights turn on. The dash/console lights illuminate properly.
I am going to try and resolve this problem Saturday so that I can drive it home Saturday night!

I'm guessing your talking about (1) parking lights, (2) tail-lights, (3) lic plate light?
or are you talking about fog lights?
A little more info would be helpful... and did you already check the fuses?

12 volts for the exterior lights comes from the Tail Fuse.
1) When you open the door, Are the interior courtesy lights working? (footwell, cargo, door lights?)
2) If you turn on the headlight switch to head or park, can you dim the DIC, backlighting for the dash, etc...?
If you verified the Tail Fuse is good, the courtesy lights and dimming of the cluster work, most likely the headlight switch is bad.

My APOLOGY! I was wrong. The tail fuse was blown. And it keeps blowing a fuse. So now, I think I should go back to square 1 and use my FSM to figure out how to track down a short in this area. Obviously, I am not very good with electrical issues, Especially if I can't figure out that it is a blown fuse that is causing the problem!
