Anyone know where I can pick up a firewall heater box for an 86 coupe that doesn't have the evaporator fixtures?
I've checked out the DIY thread here. I'm not a fiberglass pro and am hoping somebody offers an aftermarket unit.

I actually made one out of black ABS plastic. Has worked great for years.

Default evap box

when you finally get the evaporator out, the mods to the box will be easy. i'm sure you could fab a flat cover that would bolt in if you desire. i wanted to make sure, above anything else, that i had ample room for the removal of the rear s-plug. looking at the cover you will see that it juts outward on the bottom 4x6 inch area. i cut this area out and reversed it, then i used 3m (marine) polyester boat filler to seal it back in. let it cure and then sand, paint and reinstall. you think you have it whipped when you get the outer box unbolted, but the removal of the evap itself was the hardest for me. i've blocked that part out of my memory. good luck
