Default New Radiator

Just got a new DeWitts rad today and plan to install this weekend. I was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of or is it just remove and replace. I know I have to do some triming to the cushions & fan shroud but any other advice wood be welcomed. It's a 1990 with auto trans.

If you do a search you will find a recent thread regarding the directions and the trimming. I am working on new instructions because the old ones does not mention the sides need to be trimmed also. Instead of cutting 3/4", you might want to change that to 5/8 for a tighter seal. Another option to trimming is to purchase the spacer bars, ($75 set) and this positions the fans back. Installation is just remove and replace.

One thing that is sometimes troublesome is dealing with the 3 small lower screws that hold in the fan shroud. Some people reverse these to make future access easier. Getting the radiator, fans, and shroud lined up correctly when reinstalling may also take some time. Just following the directions that it comes with and ask for help if needed.
