Default Estimate on how much HP this set-up should make.

On a LT1.

1. Hotcam
2. LT4 Springs
3. GMPP 1.6 R.Rockers
4. Comp R Lifters & Pushrods
5. Meziere WP
6. Longtubes
7. Corsa mufflers with x-pipe
8. MSD 8.5mm Wires
9. MSD 6AL Box
10. Vortex Ram Air

Also, can Rich at cruzinperformance service stock 92 injectors? Anyone had their LT1 injectors done?

330 rwhp/340 rwtq

I would skip the Comp R lifters and go with the GMPP's.

I forgot a mod and edited the first post. What gains can be expected with the Vortex Ram Air?

Alvin, I sent a pm to you.

I've got a very similar setup on my 92 A4. Makes mid 12's at the track. See sig for details.

What size injectors, without a AFPR, would be adequate with this set-up? 24 lb/hr or 26 lb/hr or ?

I would avoid the CC lifters. There is more than the one frequently mentioned part number that has given trouble, I speak from experience. The stock LT1 lifters are excellent pieces. I'm still using them. When I finally took my original ones out of service at well over 100K miles, they were still performing flawlessly.

I had some of the 'flawed' CC lifters as well. Comp cams did give me a replacement set for free. The first tech blamed it on me soaking them in oil overnight prior to installation (something i've been doing since I was a kid), then the second engineer told me a bunch of them went out bad, that once they pumped up they were SOLID. So you'd adjust the valves, go for a ride and next thing you know all your valves are hanging about .050" open.

Well there ya' go. What were you thinking? Lubing parts before installation? That's just crazy!
I don't know what the deal is with Comp and lifters. But I do know that as much as I love my Pro Magnum RRs that are still going strong after many, many miles, it'll be a cold day in hell before I buy another set of their lifters.

Hp and tq don't mean squat. Are you running ZR1s in back or 9.5s?

Too late fellows. These mods are already installed. I purchased the 92 from forum member VR'92...nice guy BTW. Just wondering what kind of numbers it should be laying down. He also installed the 11" wheels on the rear. The injectors might need to be serviced, but have not ran the tests on them yet. Just trying to get an idea.

Just little 9.5's. With the MT ET Street Radials, I don't have the horsepower to spin them at the track, assuming good launchpad preparation and a good burnout.

Yeah, I heard about the CC lifters issues after they were recommended on here by a few others.

Although some people have had issues, others have run them with no problems.

All the injectors ohmed out good 12.5-12.8. The fuel pressure is good as well at 42 psi.

Wanna read horror stories about the 'R' lifters? Go to Camaroz28.com, I believe it's at the very top (like a STICKY) of their tech board. Pics there too.

If you can't find it, shoot me a line and I'll track it down for you.

Seems they are the only ones though.

Jake
