I just blew up my engine and now looking at how long it is going to take to rebuild it I'm thinking of throwing my spare engine in the car.
The problem is that I burned through the stock clutch last time the engine was in the car. I would like to find a cheap stock replacement clutch that will hold some power. I really don't want to buy a new pressure plate or flywheel if I can avoid it.
If it turns out to be too expensive then I'll just wait for my other engine to be rebuilt.
Last time my spare engine was in the car it ran a 12.5 @ 118 mph on street tires with a slipping clutch. So I'm not sure what the actual horsepower equates out to be.
Any clutch suggestions that fit this discription would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
After doing some searching around and calling carolina clutch I managed to find these:
stock replacement disk $285
Centerforce Clutch and pressure plate $570
Spec Stage 2 with flywheel $795
McLeod flywheel $800
Does anybody know of any cheaper solutions for a slightly better than stock replacement clutch?? Is there just a disk I can buy from somewhere without the pressure plate or flywheel?
