We have to keep 88Black around, so we have somebody to pick on. Can I use that mulligan on my ex ol' lady ??

Oh yea, I accidently took it up to 6400 RPM, the other night and the alternator survived.

My vote is for those crappy "lifetime warranty" reman units...I have been through 4 in a month before I got a real, not rebuilt, unit and never a problem since...pricey, yes, but well worth it...

I believe you are correct. The new one looks much better than the rebuilt and has already survived a few trips to the red line.
