Does anybody know how many O2 sensors are on a late (aluminum head) '86?
Is the Autozone $23.99 ( that a NY regional price or the same thruout the country) the same as the GM version both are Bosch units AZ # 12014?
Is the socket really needed, or can a box wrench be used? How about modifying a regular socket to allow wire clearance?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to take advantage of the good weather today to get this done.

There is one sensor on the driver's side exhaust manifold. I used the special socket, I'm not sure if there is enough space for a box wrench or not, there could be. As far as I know they are the same Bosch units.
The sensor will be pretty hard to break free at first because of some sealing compound that are on them, but then will spin off easily. The new one will already have what looks like antiseeze on it. That stuff on it melts and seals with the manifold. Don't be surprised if the stuff smokes for a few minutes after installation and firing it up. :)
Good luck, I gained back about 5 mpg after putting a new one in.
