85 Rear Hatch Problem

85 Rear Hatch Problem

I have a problem with my rear hatch constantly opening. Even with the hatch open, the lock just keeps clicking. The only way to stop it is take the fuse out or unplug the relay. I am thinking the relay is bad as I have check the switches for sticking and they all appear to be fine. Has anyone experienced this problem?

My bet would be a bad switch or a short in the wire,

To start I would disconnect 1 switch at a time, and see if it goes away. That would tell you if you have a bad switch.

My drivers door switch would do the same; it turned out that the rocker part of the switch popped out of the surrounding switch housing on one side. Popped it back together and now works fine.

Free fix for mine!

Thanks for help. Turns out driver's door hatch switch was sticking.
