I did on my 94! In the process I changed out the valve springs as well. Stock LT1 valve springs are very close to "bind" when used in conjunction with the 1.6 ratio rockers. Nearly everyone here will recommend changing the springs as well. They aren't very expensive.

Yes, I have done this. For sure, change your valve springs to the LT-4 springs (or similar). Not only are the LT-1 springs very close to coil bind, the nose pressure on the cam is fairly high and the seat pressure low if you use 1.6 rockers. Use the LT-4 springs, they are a very good match for 1.6 rockers and stock LT-1 cam.

I've got GMPP 1.6 RR on mine and find them a little too noisey for my liking. So I'm taking them off this week and going to try a set of Comp Cams Magnum rockers (not full roller).

Yes, and you can use the GMPP 101# LT4 springs about $30 per set.

I'm going with GMPP 1.6 RRs on a L-98. - Stock heads, cam - wiil new springs definitely be required (LT4s) or not likely coil bind??

You might want new springs regardless, depending on the age and history of the motor.
