On my 89 vert no cooling fan, temps hit 240, sitting at idle.
Turned A/C on no fan.
I see the sensor on the radiator with a green wire, but is there anyother circuit breaker or fuse anywhere? Any way to check the fan to see if thats the prob?
Thanks for any help.
same thing happened to me. I replaced the fan motor with a new one, cost me like 45$ from autozone I think. works good now. I took apart my old fan just to see what it looked like, and was supprized it lasted as long as it did, burnt comm and scorched everything on top of being soo dirty.
at the verry least the new fan will run more efficently, when you do get the problem figured out.
if you want to test your fan, I believe there is 2 wires running to the fan it self, there is a plug that connects to the fan , try and unplug it, and carefully try and give it 12v off a jump box or something.
Here are a few pics from my 86 FSM. I think the fan wiring and component locations are very similar. Hope not to lead you astray with these, but it should help you.
