Default Coolant temp
1995 LT1 6 speed ...when idling in traffic, the electric fans turn on at 228 degrees (on board temp gage)...is this normal?

The fan will go on either when the a/c is activated or the temp hits 228.

Yup, and the auxillary fan comes on at 236*F. All perfectly normal.
