...would be nice if you posted the year in your question.....
I remember an old trick for starting spark plugs which is to put a length of gas line in the the enf of the plug and use it as a flexible extension to get the plug started.
I used a hose at the end of the plug and had my back toward the motor whit the plug and hose in my right hand than try to feel where the plug hole is with the plug and use the hose to install the plug.
This may sound a little crazy. But, when I had the stock exhaust on my 94. I would sit facing forward on the passenger's front tire, lean back, and with my left hand get the spark plug started.
Neat tool Strick, I like making specialty tools, I made a belt tensioner tool the same way in about 5 minutes.
Black, it's easier if the wire loom bracket is removed too. When i reinstall that plug, I put the plug in the sparkplug socket with a 1 inch extension to get it started. The short piece of hose that the otherguys mentioned works good too.
...i drive an 88 and what i do is place the spark plug socket onto the plug and THEN the ratchet....i then loosen the plug and remove the ratchet and socket and unscrew with my fingers.......if you unscrew the plug to far out with the ratchet "installed" you won't be able to remove it and you will have to screw in the plug a little way to do that.....
