Default fans not working

thanks guys It is fixed!I have read the sticky but I did not see much on the 96 lt1 pcm section.I have a running hot problem,It seems like the fans wont come on unless the ac is on auto. Then the car cools just fine, but if you leave it off (no ac) the car gets real hot unless moving. In other words the fans do not come on without the ac but the cooling system seems fine when moving.Any suggestions.?

So it is normal? have you guys left it alone because today when I shut it off I could hear the radiator bubbling and the oil seems to smell burnt although it looks o.k.I would like to fix this if possible or should I just leave it? thanks

How hot is the car getting? Your primary fan is not programmed to run until 228*.

What about on the digital gauge? That's the one the PCM uses to activate the fans.

Press the button that is to the right of the steering column that says "gauges" and scroll through the different ouputs by pressing and releasing the button. The output of the digital display will change.

the regular guage is showing that it is almost 260 but the digital shows 219 to 220.Which one do I believe?

The digital gauge's sensor is on the outside of the water pump, the analog gauge's sensor is in the passenger sides head. The PCM uses the digital's imput to activate the fans which come on at 228*. The digital gauge is the one to watch.
