Default Bang for The Buck

I just purchased an 87 Convert. with 52K Auto, Candy Red with light tan leather and matching top.
The car is slow compared to my 79. I want to do some mild upgrades with out losing much mileage.. I went overboard and beyond on my 79.

Would long tube hedders, better exhaust, C.A.I. show much of a gain.

For handling I may go the V.B.P. suspension kit with 17" all around once I sell the 79.

Heads and cam would be choaked by the poor intake and exhaust though. Headers are good as is exhaust work like deleting the pre-cats and putting in a high flow main. A different intake would be good like the super ram. After that, heads and cam. You could try more ratio on the rockers and leave the stock cam. There are many options.

C-4's have trouble breathing, restricted intake and exhaust. Cam and heads are good however if it can't breathe it can't breathe. Long tube headers high flow cats a true duel exhaust, coupled with a new or ported intake system will allow her to breathe.

Hope this helps

I agree. Start with opening up the exhaust. If still not enough, install a super ram intake or like.
