I tried some flowmasters 40 series..........they flow well but are loud....jumped from the frying pan into the fire by installing some borlas which also flow well but are also loud..............heard corsa's are quitier and flow well but haven't tried them..............try plugging one of the dual outlets on each muffler.........that well deep it quite and can be removed when you want more proformance.

Anything other than a Corsa or stock muffler will be loud if you have headers and no cats. I have 3 chamber flowmasters on my supercharged truck and they're way louder than I would like. I was told they would be pretty tame by a muffler "expert". They're not. The corsas will be loud under acceleration, but will quiet down when you get off the throttle. I'll use stock muffs when I do my next motor work. I may lose a few HP, but it's a trade off I'm willing to make. You can always add cutouts if you need every last HP on occasion, yet still want to be civilized most of the time.

I heard Magnaflows are somewhat quiet. I bought them but, do not have them on or the car running right now.

Default Go to an LT-1 exhaust system

I have an '89 with ProCharger D-1 and initially had a 2.5" straight through with "H" pipe, like yours, and also found it impossibly too loud. I then picked up an almost new, complete, LT-1 exhaust system without cats that has worked beautifully. The system is 2 7/8" and the stock resonator and mufflers do not seem to add much, if any, back pressure. It's really nice to listen to the radio and have a conversation again
I found my LT-1 system in this very forum for $100 plus shipping.
Good luck
