Has anyone used a stand alone air/fuel management system on an L98 before. I am particularly interested in talking to anyone who has used the Apexi SAFC on their L98 Vette.
Check over in the Forced Induction section. I recently purchased a vette that has a accel DFI system, but I have yet to get it up and running.
Edit to add, Probably the reason you will not get much response here is, the factory ECM is a very good system, and unless you are running high boost, or a very radical engine, it normally is fine, provided you get the proper tuner. I personally have had great luck with Alvin at pcmforless. I have had others who have quite frankly, ripped me off. PM me if you need more details.

FWIW...
I run Accel DFI.
There are newer systems out there such as F.A.S.T.
My advice is to find a reputable shop in your area with experince in one of these systems.
This is something I would NOT think of doing myself as an experienced programmer can get the most out of your set up.
My tuner sits in the passenger seat as I drive with the laptop and A/F meter on board.
He programs the system through the whole RPM range..really smooths out the program.
I had one tuner program it on a dyno for WOT only and used a canned program for the rest of the rpm range.
Car ran great at the track but ran really rough when cruzin around town.
I have experience with Accel DFI, FAST, and BS3. These units are typically when you get to the higher HP levels or FI. I hae not heard messed with APEX SAFC.
And the comment above regarding FI/N2O having the aftermarket ECMs, would be a great place to start.
I've used FAST, and BigStuff III's for stand alones. Also worked with the stock ecms. Just like was said several times above the stock ecms are capable until you add boost or get radical.
just curious thats all. I just finished building a turbo B18 91 eg6 (honda civic) which I just got into the high 12's and it's a street car and I used stand alone so I was hoping to be able to tune my new vette the same way as well.

Well you could buy a chip burner-eraser, CATS for programming, and Datamaster for scanning the car and do your if you have the capabilities to do it. Its just above my head, but if you can do the honda, I feel sure you could do the vette.
By the way, you can get it all for a little over 200 dollars. Check out the tuning section for more info, especially the stickys at the top.
