A brand new 632" turn key motor is like $20,000 shipped to most places in the US. If only I had that kind of money, a mildly cammed 632 cubic inch motor would find a nice new home in my new 80s Firebird.

Also a nice engine replacement for a worn out 454 BBC in the Suburban...

I think the 632 has a taller deck than a standard BBC.

In the spirit of full desclosure:

His latest reply:

OK,
YOU ARE NOT A WANNABE AND I AM NOT A MORON!.I GUESS WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY THAT PICTURES AND COMMON SENSE DOES NOT MATTER. IT IS TAGGED AND LEGAL HERE AND IN EVERY SURROUNDING STATE.I AM PRESENTLY SUPPORTING LEGISLATION TO GET ALL 50 STATES TO HAVE TO ABIDE BY THE SAME EMISSION AND TITLE LAWS INSTEAD OF WHAT WE HAVE.ESPECIALLY SINCE THE INTERNET AND E-BAY.BUT WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH POLITICS OR WE WILL WIND UP WORSE OFF.I AM A MEMBER OF THE NIADA AND GIADA. NOW YOU MAY BE IN A POSITION WITH YOUR WEBSITE TO HELP MAKE A UNIFORM LAW HAPPEN? .YOU HAVE MY SINCERE APOLOGY FOR GOING OFF,.WE HAVE BEEN SWAMPED WITH AS YOU PUT IT MORONS THAT BUY 2500 CARS AND WANT 25K CARS.RE: THE PINTO WE JUST SOLD.I AM A BIT WORE OUT W/EBAY RIGHT NOW.
JOHNNY
My reply:

Johnny,

I know that the surrounding states to GA are light on emissions testing (my brother lives in FL and I used to live in Delaware, a very good friend lives in Atlanta). However, the Corvette in question is being sold on a NATIONAL site. That means that at the very least acknowledging the fact that some states might balk at this vehicle. That was my only comment... my only point.

All 50 states won't agree on these standards because of the way the Feds wrote the laws. Until that changes, we will have these problems. I agree, these inconsistent laws are not only annoying, they are somewhat unfair. I don't like the fact that CA has fixed the standard at 1975. Everything after that has to maintain the their standard for the year of manufacture. I really wish they would follow the federal 20 year rolling window. Alas, no...

I know about selling things... everyone wants something for nothing. That's human nature. And this Corvette is worth much more than nothing. The engine alone has to be worth $20k, easily. The rest of the car, with all the race prep, has to be worth another $15k. This proves that it is cheaper to buy a finished car than to build it yourself.

I accept your apology. I wish you the best in selling this machine. And I wish the new owner many a good run down the track and many a win.

Andy

i agree, this is a thinly disguised "street car"
