Default Electrical connection above t stat housing

I was looking to replace my stuck open 160 degree stat today but have a electrical connection above the t stat housing on the drivers side
right above the housing bolt couldn't get this electrical connection to release, it is connected to something under the fuel rail, does anyone know what this connection is? and how to release it? also does a 89 vert have a gasket or an o ring on the stat housing, as always any help from the forum IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED.

If you are trying to replace your thermostat, take the Throttle body off first to make it easier.

The 2 bolts for the thermostat housing should be easily reachable.

Let me know if you need a picture.
