Do you test the coldstart injector the same as the rest? Will it show the same resistance? Does it stay on like the others or does it only fire for a couple of seconds?
You can ohm the CSV to test the coil, but it will only show 4-6 ohms. Not as much as the other injectors. It is controled by the bimetal thermal switch located in the front of the intake manifold next to the CTS. The switch as a injector connector like the injectors. It times out after 8 seconds and is only active when engine temps are below 95*. I have my own way to test it working, but the link below is provided by AGENT 86. There is also a 5 amp fuse behind the DIC. Do a archive search for CSV under my name in C4 Tech. I have posted lots of time how it works.
I do have one plugleft at the front of the motor I have no idea what it's for. That may be why it's not working. Do you have a pic of it? Does it go next to the CTS sensor sticking out the front of the manifold?
Sorry, I have never taken a pic of it. If your standing behind the car. It is to the right of the CTS (IIRC). It has a square connector. If the CSV system is not working properly. You will have extended cranking times when cold. If you have a FSM, there is a pic of it in there.
Alright, I came through for you. This is a pic out my FSM. The end of the pencil shows where the CSV thermal switch is. Sorry, for using a pencil but it should get the point across. The switch should have a tan wire (ckt 832) and a purple wire (ckt 806) going to it. Use the link I provided in the first post to troubleshoot. It came from a FSM as well.
Have you ruled out the fuel pump and pulsator? I had the same issue and it turned out to be just that. I was chasing ghosts because I was afraid it was the fuel pump, but I changed it out and it was easier than I thought. Now the car is running excellent.
