Default 1990 L98 corvette code 32 problem

The problem began after I replaced the mul tech injectors with a set of accel 24 lb injectors. I first replaced the map sensor, o2 sensor, egr valve, iac stepper motor and then the ecm and after finding this forum then replaced the injectors. This fixed my surging, rough idle and high speed miss problem. But now I keep getting a code 32 and have tested everything from the erg solnoid circuit, no vacuum leaks, and have reistalled the original map sensor, and egr valve figuring they were good since they didnt fix the original problem that the injectors did. Also it doesnt seem to have a egr dianoisic switch because of being a 1990. The car runs great but I cant stand seeing the service engine soon light. I seem to be busting my head against the wall here trying to fix this problem, I have tested everything that my Hanes manual has to offer. Any help would be appriecated. Thanks

Refer to the post below. It may help you figure it out. On the surface it sounds like you have replaced all of the suspect componnets that would affect the EGR function. The only other thing I can think of off-hand it that its possible the EGR passages in the manifold are plugged That seems unlikely but they tell me its possible.

I had the code 32 problem on my 90 and the culprit was the EGR valve. the solinoid was fine. That tells me that in some manner the ECM can sense whether the EGR system in functioning.. Perhaps by exhaust temp or O2 content.

Good luck. It sounds like you are close to 100% success.

Default 1990 corvette code 32 problem

As far as I know there is no egr temp switch, egr dianosic switch or maf sensor used on my 1990. At least I cant locate them. As I understand this year uses tha MAP sensor to see variations in intake manifold pressure to sense a change in intake manifold pressure for the ecm. There is a MAT sensor located in the bottom/ rear side of the plenum. Is this used as an egr temp switch circuit for measuring for a fault back to the ecm. Thanks

According to the FSM, the ECM controls EGR operation based on info from the MAT, TPS, MAP and CTS ( coolant temp). ( I think I've moved to Acronym, Ohio )
There should be no EGR in parl or nuetral ( use a small mirror to check)

Also, the 90 has a negative backpressure EGR.
