Am I missing a screw -
No no no no - don't got there 
On my '96 LT4 AC compressor. I recently had the water pump replaced at the dealership. So they may have moved the compressor. There is an empty threaded screw hole near the back of the compressor near the electric plug. You can see the hole to the right of the black and green wire in the pic.

Nothing wrong there mate, nothing goes in that hole. 
There is 3 pics for ya, not sure how well youll be able to see. Mine is almost the same just not as clean.
