Default For those with headers - 02 sensor removal

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips as to how they removed their 02 sensor with headers. I have Hooker 2151's and my 02 sensor is attached to the pipe that comes off a cylinder. For the life of me I cant seem to find a way to remove it. I tried a few wrench's, vice grips and even a pipe wrench, but there is no room for anything. I dont want to take off the header if I dont have to. Any help from past experiences? Thanks!

Let the pipe get hot, then do it.

There is a special socket available at most auto parts stores.

2151's don't come with an O2 sensor fitting. 2149's have it on the # 7 primary tube.

On my 2151's I put the sensor here:

Could not be easier to change.

(My car goes into closed loop just fine without a heated O2.)

I completely forgot that the 2151's dont come with the 02 fitting until you mentioned it. I guess the garage that built my engine put the 02 sensor coming out of the header pipe. I cant get a wrench in there to loosen it.

The socket is designed just for the 02 sensor? It sure would be handy to have one right now.

Do your headers have air tubes up top?

Well just to close off this thread, I bought the 02 sensor socket and got it off easily. Thanks for the advice, I never knew there was such a thing!
