i replaced my horns the other day and when i went and hooked them up thay didnt work dont know where thay get there power from there is no fuse for them that i can see i cheeked all the other fuses and thay were all good could it be in the horn button the conecteors look a little rusty help live in florida and need my horn to word off the old people that live hear lol :chevy :flag
Pull the horn button off and see if anything is broken. (plastic pieces) It could also be the horn relay. You didn't mention what year your car is, so we can't help you with a location for the relay.
If its an 88 then good chances the relay is in the same spot as mine. Mine is located on the fender well just in front of the brake booster. You may just want to replace that to start with. Its only about 4 bucks.
Check the contacts inside the under the center cover on the steering wheel for ground. If they are not grounded then your problem lies insdie the steering column. The most common fault I have found there is the small spring on the turn signal contact disc. There is a metal button forced up by spring pressure from the inside, this button is the ground contact, when the spring fails the grounding goes away. Fixing it is not hard but rather detailed. If you find this is the problem let me knoe and I will try to walk you through replacing the little spring.
