I think I may have to fix the spider gears in the rear end. They seem to make noise once the rearend is warmed up after driving for about 1/2 an hour. I thought the noise might be from the clutches but the noise from the rearend doesn't sound like chatter. Any suggestions on diagnosing the problem ? Whats involved in fixing bad spider gears ?
Pretty much, you will need to replace them. What exactly makes you think that they are bad?
I would suggest the Toms Differential cold stabilized ones. Let me know if we can help as we are an authorized dealer for Tom's stuff. :)
Thanks,
When I do left or right turns like turning into a driveway or intersection, the rear end sort of groans. It only does this when its cold. The car has 65K on it and has never been to the drag strip.
I have the redline lube for non posi rearend with 4 oz of the limited slip additive in it. Its been in there for about 4500 miles.
